Topiary and Standardised Plants

Topiary and Standardised Plants are defined as plants that are shaped by clipping into tight balls, cylinders, squares, cones or spirals. These plants are best suited in formal gardens where plants are immaculately manicured. They are used to make a statement in the garden as they depict many years of hard work clipping them to shape, some of which would be over 10 years of age.

All Topiary & Standards make ideal pot specimens. Used for entry specimens or simply arranged artistically on balconies or against large walls for softening.

Useful Tips & Hints
Regular pruning every 3mths, pinching 10mm off the new growth will encourage a dense bushy shrub. When temperatures are above 20 degrees Celsius spray new growth with a systemic insecticide such as Folimat or Confidor. Feed regularly with liquid Nitrosol or Aquasol.
